Each year nurses and social workers who work with Little Smiles of Florida nominate children to receive special recognition for their extraordinary bravery, character and talent. Little Smiles holds a gala for these young Stars that is modeled after a Hollywood awards ceremony. They are our Stars for a day complete with gowns, tuxedos, makeovers and the full red-carpet treatment. The children arrive in special vehicles escorted by the police and fire department. They walk down the red carpet to flashing bulbs as guests request their signature, just as they would for a Hollywood star. The evening’s program features a plated dinner, live music, dancing, live and silent auction, award presentation and more.
