FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), founded by inventor Dean Kamen, is a 501(c)3 organization that designs innovative programs to build self-confidence, knowledge and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders. And our ultimate goal is to substantially strengthen the school-to-career pipeline through which young people are inspired to explore opportunities in science and technology.
