Setup and Housekeeping Staff

The Set-up/Housekeeping department provides complete room set-up / strike activity for all client related events. They will also maintain the cleanliness of all internal facility space as well as the facilities external perimeter on a daily basis. Personnel, if necessary, may be trained to operate equipment used in the maintenance of convention facilities such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, compactor, and other maintenance equipment. There are varying hours and shifts available based on event related activity.

Key functions of job:

*Set and strike rooms according to pre-determined floor plans for events. Examples of equipment setups include chairs, tables, stages for graduation and conferences.

*Employee may frequently be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

*High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.

*Strong attention to detail.

*Customer service focused.

*Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

*Experience in heavy public contact.

*Work on various preventative maintenance projects to maintain cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the facility.

*Clean floors, drinking fountains, restrooms, chairs, seating, furniture, walls, windows, fixtures, aisles, doors, and other areas throughout the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

*Empty waste baskets and refuse cans into containers. Pick up paper and cardboard, break down cartons if necessary.

*Sweep away debris on floors, aisles, tables, seats, etc. before, during and after events.

*Check and restock paper and soap dispensers in restrooms.

*Loosen and scrape dirt or grease from floors as necessary.

*Set and strike rooms according to pre-determined floor plans for events.

*Provides direction and assistance to guests when asked.

*Work on various preventative maintenance projects to maintain cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the facility.
